"Heat It Up" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are about 14 of us highlighting the “Heat It Up” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of hop.

If you are coming from Darlys Blog, you are on the right track!

I have 1 project that I created using this technique.  I hope you enjoy it.

I have created a card using a few heat embossing techniques on it.
Here is the card.  I swiped the edge of the white cardstock with my Versamark and then used Gold embossing
powder.  I love to do this technique on photos and on the edge of layouts.  It is a fun one.
I embossed the sentiment in Clear Embossing Powder and then used my watercolor paints to add a wash to make it pop.
I recommend wiping the embossed area with a tissue afterwards.  This is a cool resist technique.

I used clear embossing on the Pixie and Thistle paper, love this look too.
The other strip of Thistle paper I drew around with the embossing brush tip pen and then used the Gold embossing powder.
The strip with Carolina hearts I added clear embossing powder but I wasn't fast enough so it only picked up on a few spots.
You can emboss using our regular inks but you have to act very fast.  Don't try to do the whole strip at once like I did.
I was in a hurry to get it done so that I could get this posted.

The supplies I used are:
Stamp set:  Let's Stay Home
Inks:  Versamark, Carolina
Paper:  White Daisy, Pixie, Thistle
Embossing powders:  Gold, Clear
Other:  Gold shimmer trim, Embossing Ink Pens, Heat Tool

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Haley's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

I am featuring the stamp set and digital art.

I had so much fun creating this fun card. I used the Love these People stamp set, Smoothie & White Daisy cardstock, Intense Black ink, Pewter ink, Golden Rod stickles, Pale Pink, Citrus and Citrus Green Tri-Blend markers.  I did a tutorial on my Facebook page on how to do this stamping technique, so feel free to check it out.  I have had a busy weekend with doing a 3 day virtual crop on my Facebook page, it was a lot of fun.

I also created this 2 page layout this weekend.  I have not had time to photograph the layout side by side but here are both pages.  I created this layout for the monochromatic challenge that I gave everyone at my virtual crop this weekend.  I used this stamp set to create some of the background paper and it was all created using greys.  I also used the These are My People Digital Art for this layout and cut it using my cricut.  I used silver stickles on the flowers.  I also used the Seas the Day paper packet and the Details I love stamp set for the butterflies.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.  I would love to hear what you think of them.

I had a lot of fun playing with this stamp set.
I have so many ideas and I will be posting lots more art using this stamp set in the near future.

For today I created this layout.

I created this layout using the Yesterday & Today Paper, White Daisy cardstock, and Espresso Cardstock.
I sponged Espresso ink along the edges of the photo mats and then edge distressed them with the closed blade of my scissors.

The port hole windows were created using the Shaker Window & Confetti Thin Cut.
I added Liquid Glass to the air bubbles.  The sea grass was stamped in Glacier and the coral was stamped in 3rd generation Smoothie ink.
The title was created using White Daisy cardstock that I added texture using a stamp from the Strokes of an Artist stamp set in Glacier ink.  I then added waves using Lagoon ink, cut using the Block Alphabet Thin Cut set.  Lastly, I doodled around the edges using the .03 Black journaling pen.

Now "Hop" on over to Becca Whitham's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! "Distressed Much?" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are 10 of us highlighting the “Distressed Much?” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of hop.

If you are coming from Valerie's Blog, you are on the right track!

I have a layout that I created using this technique.  I hope you enjoy it.

There are so many ways that you can Distress and I have used a few different ways.

I have ripped a portion at the top of this page and that is 1 way to add a distressed look.
I distressed most of the paper using Espresso ink along the edges.  I love the look this gives a project.  The only paper I didn't distress with ink was the French Vanilla cardstock and the Espresso dot paper 1/2 " strips.

I used my scissor edge to distress the 1/2 " espresso dot paper.

Supplies used:
Gold Glitter Gems

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Haley's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

I had so much fun creating this fun, interactive card.  I will be playing with these products lots more in the future.  I have so many new favorites in this catalog.  Just got another box of new products a few minutes ago, unfortunately not enough time to play with them before this hop.  I am taking part in another blog hop tonight though featuring the new Yesterday & Today Collection and created a couple layouts for it.  You can check it out here to see what I did with those products.

I chose to feature the new Dreams Take Flight Stamp & Thin Cut set and the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts.  I also used the Sentiments by Melissa Esplin stamp set.  I have been wanting to play with the card front spinner die for a while but haven't had the time until now.  I am in love with both it and this stamp set.  I also tried out a new technique to me, Bokeh and will be posting a tutorial video next Tuesday on my Facebook & Instagram accounts on how to do it.
