December SOTM Blog Hop - Reindeer Crossing

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring December's SOTM, which is Reindeer Crossing, a set of 10 stamps.  If you have come here from Darlys Recker's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have 16 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I had a lot of fun playing with this stamp set.  I have created 3 very different projects for you using this set.

To start, here is a Christmas card.  I have stamped the sleigh in Black Intense ink and then colored it in using my small waterbrush and Black, Candy Apple and Saffron ink pads.  I then added some clear shimmer brush to the red on the sleigh.  I used the Make it from Your Heart Vol 4 book for the pattern for this card.  The paper used was Cedar & Pine, White Daisy and Peach cardstock. The edges of the cardstock were inked with Peach ink.

I have created this ornament using the Custom Ornament thin cut set, White & Gold Skinny Ribbon, Sapphire shimmer brush, AlmondBlack ink and White Daisy cardstock.   I am in love with this ornament thin cut set.

Lastly, I have a bookmark.  I have been wanting to get into Bible journaling, and this stamp set seemed perfect for this verse.  I used the branches stamp to stamp around the edges in Evergreen ink. The deer are stamped in Almond ink and then I painted with the Bluebird ink pad and the Medium Flat waterbrush.  (I forgot to clean it after using it last time so it had some purplish color in it too.)  The S is a little messed up as my kids were fighting right at that moment and I made it backwards.  I fixed it to the best of my ability.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.  I would love to hear what you think of them.

Now "Hop" on over to Miss Carries Creations Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the December SOTM is only available until the 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

Good Evening!

I have been working on a Holly Jolly Scrapbooking Workshop over the past few weeks.  I have incorporated some Cricut images as well as used the Holly Jolly - Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cuts set.  This is the same stamp & thin cuts set used for the Days of December Album ( I am teaching an online class Nov 27th at 7 pm and would love to have you join me.)  and I used it on a card I made on yesterdays blog post as well.

This workshop contains 3 - 2 page layouts.  You can get the directions for the workshop from me when you spend $30 with me before shipping & tax. Including a Design Space cutting file.  Just send me a message letting me know that you would like the directions for this workshop.  If you are interested in a pre-cut kit send me a message or comment and we can figure that out.

"Paper Layering" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are 10 of us highlighting the “Paper Layering” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of hop.

If you are coming from Darlys Blog, you are on the right track!

I have 2 projects that I created using this technique.  I hope you enjoy them.

Card #1 - Season's Greetings
For this card I layered embossed paper, strips of Holly Jolly paper, a stitched rectangle and die cut holly.  I love the look of the background paper that is embossed with the snowflake embossing folder.  The dimension you get when you layer paper makes a card or layout pop.  I used a bit of thin 3-D foam tape behind the holly die cuts.

I have added Diamond Stickles to the elves hats.

Z2497 - Dark Red TriBlend marker
Sorry retired ShinHan markers as that is what I had for green & skin  but these current markers would be the same.
Z2485 Light Green TriBlend marker
Z2476 - Fair Skin TriBlend marker

 Card #2 - Christmas Blessings
I have used a few other paper layering techniques in this card using the
November Stamp of the Month - Family Time and the Connecting Circles overlay from the Artbooking Cricut Collection.  Here is a picture tutorial of how I created this card.

Finished Card.  Just look at all those layers and dimension.

To start with I stamped out like a million of the leaf image in Candy Apple and Clover ink.  I also stamped out the centers in Saffron ink.  I then fussy cut them all out using my favorite our non-stick scissors.  There will be a layout coming soon using these too.

I cut a circle using the 2nd smallest of the Basic Circles thin cut (approximately 1.5").  I then layered the Clover leaves and Candy Apple leaves using the Tombow liquid adhesive to adhere.

Finished last layer of Candy Apple leaves, trimmed out center and adhered it.  I then added clear shimmer brush to all the leaves and center.  I love the sparkle it gives.  On some of the pictures you can see it.

I then used my fingers to curl up the leaves/petals of the poinsettia I created to give it more dimension.

Stamped the word Blessings from the stamp of the month in Black ink and fussy cut around it.  Stamped Christmas from the Say it in Style stamp set, dovetailed the right side and sponged Candy Apple ink around the edges.  Stamped the stitched border on the top and bottom of the card base in black ink.

Adhered the overlay using the liquid glue, next comes the patterned paper.  I added thin 3-D foam tape to the back of the word Blessings.  Adhered the poinsettia with liquid adhesive.

Tucked the dovetailed strip with Christmas under the poinsettia.  Curled the dovetailed edges up using my fingers.

This stamp set is very versatile and is only available for this month.
Supply List for Christmas Blessings Card:

Holly Jolly Paper Packet and Sticker Sheet
You should have arrived here from Brenda's blog.
This is a circular hop, so you can start anywhere and make your way around it.
If you get lost you can find the full list of participants on Michelle's Blog.

I have been busy working on designing a scrapbook workshop using the Holly Jolly Paper Packet, Holly Jolly - Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cut set, silver embellishing thread, clear shimmer brush, Candy Apple ink & cardstock, Clover ink, 0.03 Black Journaling Pen, thin 3D foam tape and White Daisy Cardstock.  I used the Brushed Letters stamp set for the title. The inspiration for this layout came for the Make It From Your Heart Volume 3 book, Pattern 5.

So, often we get caught up in all the stuff at Christmas and really the
most important thing is to BE PRESENT with those around you!

I have pictures of my Grandma and parents being PRESENT with my kids.
My Grandma passed away this year and I know
I treasure the times of her being Present with all of us.

I have inked around all of the edges of the papers with either Clover or Candy Apple ink using a sponge.

I have added silver embellishing thread behind the holly.
I have added clear shimmer brush to all of the holly as well.
Using a ruler I added the lines using the 0.03 Black Journaling Pen.

I will be posting more layouts in this workshop in the next week.  Just finishing them up and then making the guides for the workshop.

Reasons to Smile Cut Above Layout Kit and Calendar Kit

Do you like fast layouts?
Do you make calendars?
Do you like to make gifts for teachers, family, friends or co-workers?
Do your kids like to create?

If you have answered YES to any of the above questions,
then these calendar kits or Cut Above layout kits are for you.
These layouts can be put onto the Base Calendar or they can just be added to your album.
After the year is over cut the page off the calendar and put it in your album.

There is no cutting required for this kit.  You just need adhesive and a journalling pen.

The instructions come in the kit.
I taped me putting them together.
If you order the kit I will add you to a private Facebook group and do an online class.

Another consultant, Jean Johnson made the single page layouts into double page layouts.
She has given me permission to share her layouts.
I wanted to show you how you can do either.
Just add extra cardstock to make double pages.

Sorry the overload of pictures you are about to get.

I hope this gives you some ideas and inspiration.

I think these would make great Christmas gifts for family and teachers.
They are simple enough to make too that they would be a great for a child/youth to put together.

There are a few options for Kits.
