I have also created this process video to show you how I created it as well.

Supplies Used:

This month we have around 10 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I have been having fun creating tags lately and so I decided to use this stamp set to make a shaker tag.

I used a tag from the Buildable Tags Thin Cut set as the base.

I stamped in Intense Black ink and then used Tri-Blend markers to colour with.  (Gold Brown, Antique Pink, Jade Green, Orange and Light Yellow)  I inked the edges with the black ink pad and added doodle lines with the .01 black journaling pen.

I added sponging with Ballerina ink to the base tag for the belly.  I trimmed out the belly of the owl with my craft knife, added acetate & foam tape, then filled with bitty beads and silver star confetti.  The gold splatters were created with the Gilt Gloss Spray.

Here is the process video.

I hope you enjoyed this tag and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Deck the Palms Blog Hop

Welcome to our Deck the Palms Blog Hop!

Have you tried creating with the Deck the Palms special?  It has a tropical vibe to it and a tropical Christmas vibe.  But it is also, very versatile. If you haven't I hope you will be inspired to try creating with it after you check out all of the amazing art we have created for this blog hop.

If you arrived here from Darlys Recker, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt - If You Bling It has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 9 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their Deck the Palms creations during this blog hop.

So, originally I was going to use this collection to document some of our family adventures to Mexico but then I remembered that I had pictures from our honeymoon (16 years ago next month 😲) to the Dominican Republic that still weren't scrapbooked yet but they were printed.  So, I grabbed some of those out to use and they are perfect.  On our honeymoon we went on different excursions and at the place we had lunch on the first excursion there was this amazing tree.

This is going to be a 2 page layout but I haven't finished up the other page yet.  In the photos for the other page you can see more of the tree, it was huge and really cool.

I am using the Deck the Palms paper & sticker sheet, combined with Pattern 2 from the Make from your Heart Vol. 5 book.  I will put a full list of supplies at the end.

I love to use Flip Flaps to add lots of photos & journaling. (I still have to add the journaling.)

I love how the thin foam tape & inking edges adds dimension. The flowers on the white cardstock is from the Summer Vibes - Cardmaking Stamp & Thin Cut set.

I folded the Mint cardstock & scored it multiple times and then sanded the score lines to bring out the white core.  (That is a technique that I learned at a CTMH Album Retreat, the January one is open for registration.  I highly recommend going to Album Retreats.)
I then adhered the mint cardstock to a sheet of White Daisy just to give it stability.

The leaves are from the Summer Vibes - Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cut set.  The flowers are 1" & 2" and from the Flower Market & You are Here Cricut collections.  I cut them in white and then sponged them with ink and added some clear shimmer brush as well for some sparkle.

Once, I finish the other page I will be posting a process video on my Creativity with Kim - YouTube channel.

Now "Hop" on over to see what Wendy Kessler has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can purchase these products!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.

This month we have around 16 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

Today, is my oldest birthday and I decided to use this stamp set to create a birthday card for him.
He got a new bike a few weeks ago as an early birthday present.

So, I used the bike & enjoy the ride border to create the sentiment for this card and stamped it in Charcoal ink.  I stamped the mountain border on the card base in Pewter ink.  The glacier background paper was created by scoring glacier cardstock every 1/2" both ways and then inking with Glacier ink, this was a technique that I learned during the May Album Retreat.  The yellow pattern paper is from the Happiest Place paper collection which is back as a special.

I embellished by adding a few silver glitter gems and adding Liquid Glass to the seat, pedal and handlebar.  The bike was cut on the Cricut using the Flower Market cartridge.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Slimline Card Blog Hop

Welcome to our Slimline Card Blog Hop!

Have you tried making a slimline card?  If you haven't I hope you will be inspired to try creating some after you check out all of the amazing cards we have created for this blog hop.

If you arrived here from Brandi R - crzy4scrapbooking, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt - If You Bling It has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 13 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their slimline card creations during this blog hop.

To start my creative process I pulled out a bunch of my newer stamp sets that I hadn't really played with yet.   I also grabbed the Hillside Cottage paper collection and some slimline card bases.  Then I started playing around, here are the cards I came up with for today.

These slimline cards measure 3.5" x 8.5", I used the Slimline card bases.  The paper is from the Hillside Cottage collection and measures 3.5" x 8.5", I inked the edges of it with my Blue Belle ink pad.  The flowers & leaves are from the Mothers Are the Best stamp set (this set is only available until May 31st.), I stamped the bases of these flowers in 1st & 2nd generation Blue Belle and Desert Rose ink.  The outline of the flowers was done in Blue Belle and Sapphire ink.  The base of the leaves are Avocado and the outline is New England Ivy ink.  I stamped them on White Daisy and then fussy cut them out.  I added clear shimmer brush to the flowers, which doesn't show in the photos and I added a clear sparkle to the center of each of the flowers.

I used the Scalloped Circle thin cut and then stamped the sentiments with Intense Black ink.  The sentiments are both from the Friendship is a Blessing stamp set.  (It retires on May 31st as well.)  I just love this set.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and I would love to hear what you think of them.

Now "Hop" on over to see what Miss. Carrie has created! Canadian Blog Hop - May/June Catalog

We are so glad to have you join us today for the Canadian Blog Hop. Today we are featuring the new products that you can find in the the May/June Catalog. You can view this catalog here.

This is a circular hop so you can make your way around. You should have arrived here from Colleen's Blog. If you get lost along the way or would like to start at the beginning you can find the list on Michelle's Blog.

I decided to create with the new Glad You're a Grad stamp set as I needed to create grad cards for the graduates from our church.

We have 4 grads this year from 2 high schools.  So, I decided to create cards using the school colours.
I finished the cards for the 1 school and here they are.

I distress ripped the strips of Sapphire & Canary cardstock using my embossing stylus & paper trimmer track.  I did a video today showing how to do this HERE.  This was a technique that I learned at album retreat  (there are still a few album retreat bundles available) this past week and it is such a fun way to add texture to a layout or card.

I stamped the graduates with Intense Black ink on White Daisy cardstock and matted it with Black.  I coloured the images with Bluebird & Sapphire shimmer brush, Citrus, Fair Skin, Ice Grey & True Black markers.  I embellished this card with the clear sparkles.

I also added some Onyx Pearls & Diamond Stickles.  I love the look of the doodled line added with the journaling pen.  Sentiments stamped in Sapphire ink.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and I would love to hear what you think of them.

Next up on the Blog Hop is Sabrina's Blog, so head on over and check out what she has created.

Thanks for joining us today and I hope you can join us again on July 20th for the next Canadian Blog Hop.

If you don't have a Maker, I would be more than happy to help you with all your scrappy needs.
Blessings, Kim

May/June New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our May & June Catalog New Product Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the special products in the May/June Catalog. You can view the Catalog HERE.  These products are available only until the end of June.

If you arrived here from Becca Whitham's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 17 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using products from the new May/June catalog and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

Today, I am sharing a layout I created using the Hillside Cottage Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.

I plan to add my journaling around the edges of the stacked squares on the right page. This photo is from almost 10 years ago, it is so nice to be getting this memories & stories documented.

I changed it up a little in that switched the amount & size of the photos on the right page.  I also swapped out the sticker that was supposed to be under the photos on the right page with the sentiment, "So Blessed"  from the Hillside Cottage Cardmaking stamp & thin cut set.  I stamped it in Blue Belle ink and dovetailed it.  The black edges was done with the True Black marker.

I am in love with these wooden/acrylic Hillside Cottage shapes, they are so fun to mix and match.  I also love that we carry Liquid pearls as they are such an nice accent, this is the Onyx Pearl.
LOL, the looks on their faces.  It was really bright and the sun was hurting their eyes.  That is Mount Rushmore in the distance, this was a lookout before we got there.

Always, remember that you can take a kit and change it up.  I am in the process of deciding how I want to change up the other layouts in this workshop to suit my stories & photos.  I think I am going to use parts of it to tell the story of my Dutch heritage and some of my memories of those things.  I am in the mulling through what I want to do and how I want to tell those stories.  As I write this more memories are popping into my head of visits to my grandparent's home.  They have both passed on now but I have many fond & special memories that I want to document & capture for my kids & grandkids.  That is why I love scrapbooking.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Gina Brandstetter's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the products in this catalog are only available until the end of June!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can purchase these products!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.
