Paper Ink Swiping Technique

 Good Evening Everyone!

I wanted to pop on here and share some artwork with another technique that I learnt at the CTMH album retreat just over a week ago.  I taught this technique live on Facebook on Saturday during my Good Stuff Virtual Weekend Crop the link to that video is HERE.  I did this technique near the end of the video as it was a video on Distress Oxide and Stencils.  So, here is the card I created using a few of the techniques from the layouts that are below.  I love how you can take techniques and use the same technique on both a layout and a card.

Card with ink swiping and distress oxide with stencils.

Layout with ink swiping technique.

Layout with Distress Oxides with Stencils.

I would love to know what you think of these layouts and the card.  If you are interested in making them please let me know.

Supplies used:
X9023 Mix-In Paper Packet (Jan-Feb 2021)
Z3919 - Whole Latte Love stamp & thin cut set
D2008 - Counting My Blessings stamp set
D1966 -  Simple Serif Uppercase Stamp Set
Z3825 - Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink pad
Z3834 - Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink pad
Z3830 - Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink pad
Z3831 - Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink pad
Z3837 - Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink pad
Cinnamon Cardstock
Peach Cardstock
Raspberry Cardstock
Nectarine Cardstock
Black Cardstock
White Daisy Cardstock
Sundance Cardstock
Sapphire cardstock
Glacier Cardstock
Desert Rose Cardstock
Almond Cardstock
French Vanilla Cardstock
I recommend our CUSTOM12 or CUSTOM24 cardstock packages where you can choose your colours in multiples of 2s.  They are a great way to get just a few sheets of multiple colours instead of 24 of a single colour.

NOTE:  The Distress Oxide inks have been a hot seller and have been selling out but they will be coming back in stock so just check back if the colour you want isn't in stock.

Also, if you are interested in getting your supplies at a discount then check out becoming a VIP customer or a Maker/Consultant.

It is $45 to become a VIP and you get back $20 of that in VIP credit.  Then you can earn 15% in VIP credit on each order and are able to get 1 stamp of the month for free each month with a $60 order.  There is also a special workshop coming up that is just for VIPs.  Here is the You-tube video about that special event.

There are a couple days left to become a Maker and this is the lowest I have ever seen it be to sign up in the almost 7 years I have been a Maker/Consultant.  You can sign up for $20 and we give you $21 in CTMH cash to spend.  So, we pay you a dollar.  You have until the end of January to get this price.  As a Maker you get a minimum of a 25% discount/commission.  You also get to see & order new products before everyone else which is a huge perk.

Here are photos of the VIP only workshop.  I can't wait to create with this exclusive kit, mine just arrived today.  The sticker sheer and stamp set are exclusive to our VIPs and this special is available to order until the end of March.

Thank you all for joining me and if you have any questions please let me know.

Good night,
Kim

Ombre Stamping Fun

Hi  Everyone!  I just wrapped up my Good Stuff Virtual Weekend Crop.  If you missed it I hope you can join me next Saturday in my Kim's Virtual Crop Group for more fun.  You can also always catch the replay of the live videos and still play along with the challenges.

We had so much fun together and I had the chance to share so many fun techniques and create artwork with them live.  I wanted to share tonight the cards I created using the Ombre stamping technique.  If you would like to watch the Facebook Live of me creating these cards then HERE is the link.

This first card used the January Stamp of the Month: Every Thank You.

Every Thank You
$25.75 or $6.75 with a $60 order or if you are a VIP customer you can get it free with a $60 order.

This second card used 2 stamp sets.  The sentiment, heart and coffee cup come from one of my favourite new stamp & thin cut sets called Whole Latte Love.  I am a coffee lover and so this is a perfect set for me.  The sun beams come from the Counting My Blessings stamp set that was from the recent Album Retreat.  Close to my Heart decided to offer it to the public after the retreat and the flowers and leaf from it co-ordinate with the thin cuts from the Stitched Florals stamp & thin cut set.  That is the first time Close to my Heart has ever created a stamp set that can be used with another sets thin cuts.

Counting My Blessings
Stitched Florals stamp & thin cut set

Whole Latte Love

I used Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks to do the stamping and Blue Belle Sequins to embellish.  The stripe of paper is from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Collection.

I hope these cards inspire you to get creative and to try new techniques and mediums.  They were inspired by this layout from Album Retreat.  If you are interested in creating this layout let me know.  The next Album Retreat will be happening virtually again and is in May which is National Scrapbooking Month.  As soon as registration is live I will let you know.  This was my 4th one and I learned so much and had so much fun creating the layouts.  Everything comes pre-cut too which is so nice to just pull things out of a bag and create.  Let me know if you want more information about that.

Have a great rest of your weekend and come back here soon for more inspiration.

Blessings, Kim

Thank you… now on to our hop!
If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular                      hop, but if you want to start at the beginning join                                                                Michelle at Creations With Michelle. If you came from Brae at The Brae-er                            then you are in the right place!
I decided to play and try out some new products and create my first slimline card. It was so much fun to create and I think I am hooked. I am so excited                            that we now have Slimline card bases and envelopes as well as this cute thin                          cut. Slimline cards are all the rage right now.
There is so much goodness on this card.  I was planning to stack 2 of the Diagonal Stripe Slimline Thin cuts to get a crisscross pattern happening so I flipped this one over.  However, I decided I liked this card just like it is, so this is the backside of the Thin Cut image.

I created the background of the card by blending the Peacock Feathers                            Distress Oxide ink on White Daisy cardstock. I then spritzed it with some                      water and splattered it with some Clear Shimmer Brush and some                      Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink using a water brush.

The Diagonal Stripe Slimline Thin Cut was cut with White Daisy cardstock                          and then flipped over. I then blended Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink                      over it and splattered it with water . I love the oxided look you get when you                      do this.

The cute Penguins come from the new Winter Penguins set and I stamped                          them with Intense Black ink. I used our amazing Tri-Blend markers and                          the clear shimmer brush to colour them in. The list of the colours used is                            below. I hand trimmed out an extra hat/glasses of the one penguin and                            layered it on top with 3-D foam tape for a fun dimensional effect.

The sentiment comes from the new Months of the Year February stamp                              set and I put it on the large Stitched Scalloped Bracket, and used Archival                      Black to stamp with. The heart border is also from that stamp set and                          stamped using the Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide                          inks. I inked up the stamp 2/3s of the way with Abandoned Coral first and                          then inked up the other 2/3s with Peacock Feathers ink. So in the middle                          the 2 inks overlaid each other. This is a really fun technique to use.
Then to finish off the card I added a few Blue Belle sequins and splattered                          with a little bit of the Turquoise Glossy Spray.
I hope you enjoyed this card, learned a few things and were inspired.                                  Here is a list of everything I used.
