Smitten Blog Hop

Welcome to our Smitten Blog Hop!

Have you tried creating with the Smitten special?  If you haven't I hope you will be inspired to try creating with it after you check out all of the amazing art we have created for this blog hop.

If you arrived here from Melinda Everitt, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, HERE is a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 7 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their Smitten creations during this blog hop.

I decided to play around with the Smitten stamp & thin cut set and combine it with the Sweet as Honey cardmaking workshop kit.  I wanted to show that you can take a workshop kit designs & switch it up by changing the stamp set.  I designed these for my VIP customers.

Here is my remake of card #1 from the kit.

Card #2

Card #3

Card #4

For these cards I used the same supplies as the kit called for plus some clear & paprika shimmer brush and some Tri-Blend markers for colouring (Orange, Citrus, Ice Grey, Brown Grey and Pale Pink.)  The supplies called for are Black ink pad (I used both Archival & Intense Black), Sundance ink, Rosemary ink, Sponge daubers, thin 3-D foam tape and adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and I would love to hear what you think of them.  Which one is your favourite?  This collection does not need to be Love or Valentine themed and I hope I showed you that.

Now "Hop" on over to see what Scrappin Katy has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can purchase these products!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.

This month we have around 16 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

Today, is my oldest birthday and I decided to use this stamp set to create a birthday card for him.
He got a new bike a few weeks ago as an early birthday present.

So, I used the bike & enjoy the ride border to create the sentiment for this card and stamped it in Charcoal ink.  I stamped the mountain border on the card base in Pewter ink.  The glacier background paper was created by scoring glacier cardstock every 1/2" both ways and then inking with Glacier ink, this was a technique that I learned during the May Album Retreat.  The yellow pattern paper is from the Happiest Place paper collection which is back as a special.

I embellished by adding a few silver glitter gems and adding Liquid Glass to the seat, pedal and handlebar.  The bike was cut on the Cricut using the Flower Market cartridge.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Maureen's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the June SOTM is only available until the 30th!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.

"Altered Wooden Shapes" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are about 11 of us highlighting the “Altered Wooden Shapes” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of the hop participants.

If you are coming from Katy's Blog, you are on the right track!

I created this cute card using a few different techniques to alter the wooden hearts.

The first technique I did was ink the medium heart with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink, I just rubbed it across the ink pad.

The second technique was to ink the small heart using the ink blending tool and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink, then using the Peeled Paint ink I stamped a floral image on the heart which you can see faintly.

Then I backed the open heart with a piece of cardstock and filled it with liquid glass and white beads.  After it was dry I trimmed it from the cardstock and brushed the top of the heart with my Black shimmer brush.  There are a few areas that are still brown as those spots had a little liquid glass on them and it acted as a resist to the shimmer brush.

The stamping was all done using the March Stamp of the Month - Winged Masterpiece and Intense Black ink.  The colouring was done with the Coral, Green Turquoise, Light Yellow and the Green Citrine Metallic Marker.

It is the Cardstock Carnival this month so I wanted to feature some of our beautiful 2-toned cardstock.  I used Sage, Peach and Mint, this colour combo I found in the Love of Color Vol 1 book.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Tamara's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Blessings, Kim
