I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the special products in the Pocket Card Perfection special.  These products are available only until the end of March.  Check out all the other Pocket Card Collections we also carry HERE.

If you arrived here from Lauren's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 11 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using Pocket Cards/PML/Picture My Life Cards and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I did a Facebook Live this morning showing both sides of all the cards in the Pocket Card Perfection special (Party Time & Lovely) if you want to see it go HERE.

I decided to create a layout using the Party Time PML cards and a few photos from almost 11 years ago of my son's Birthday.    I used Pattern 4 from the Make it from you Heart Vol. 3 book to create this layout.

Right now we have the Cardstock Carnival also happening so I decided to mostly pair the Party Time PML cards with some of our cardstock and show off the white core of our cardstock.  If you want to see a video of how I did this you can go HERE.  I used Nectarine cardstock with an older CTMH embossing folder that is almost like the Cascading Dots embossing folder.  The 1/2" strip is Charcoal cardstock and I used scissors to edge distress the edges. I used Green Apple for the base, Sapphire for the mat and used a scoring tool on them for the lines.  I brought out the white core by sanding them.

I had to run the paper through 2 times in the embossing folder to do the full 12" strip.  I love that our embossing folders have a slit at the top so you can just slid it through.  Here you can see what it looked like before & after sanding it.  Which effect do you like better sanded or not sanded?

I just got some of the Copper Ore paper and WOW.  I love it, just an 1/8" strip has such impact.  I will be using this lots.

I love the scored journaling lines, such a fun look. If I need more I can add a few more.

I fussy cut along the scallop of this card to create this part of the title element.  I did the stamping on White Daisy cardstock with Nectarine ink and inked the edges with Sapphire ink. The stamp set I used was the Pennant Banner Alphabet.  I added the nd with a Black 0.05 Journaling Pen.  The striped paper is from the Party Time Paper Package.

I just love how this turned out, I was able to personalize this PML card.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Canadian Blog Hop - March/April Catalog

We are so glad to have you join us today for the Canadian Blog Hop. Today we are featuring the new products that you can find in the the March/April Catalog. You can view this catalog here.

This is a circular hop so you can make your way around. You should have arrived here from Brandi's Blog. If you get lost along the way or would like to start at the beginning you can find the list on Michelle's Blog.

Here is the simple single page layout I created.

To create this layout I used the Daisy Meadows paper package, Peacock, Almond, Glacier & White Daisy cardstock.  I stamped with Almond, Peacock, Intense Black & Archival Black ink pads.  I used the largest Stitched Bracket thin cut for the title & journaling spot.  I simply cut it in half.  The stamp sets I used were Cherry Blossoms & the Daisy Meadows stamp & thin cut set.  I coloured with the Coral & Citrus Tri-Blend markers.

This is a close-up of the tone on tone stamping using the Cherry Blossoms stamp set.  The title is from this set too.

Next up on the Blog Hop is Joanne's Blog, so head over and check out what she has created.
Thanks for joining us to see what we created. I would love to hear what you thought of this layout. I hope you can join us again on May 20th for the next Canadian Blog Hop.
If you don't have a Maker, I would be happy to help you with all your scrappy needs.
Blessings, Kim

March/April Catalog New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our March & April Catalog New Product Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the special products in the March/April Catalog.  These products are available only until the end of April.

If you arrived here from Miss Carrie's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.
There are about 16 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using products from the new March/April catalog and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I kept it fairly simple today and created this layout, I am sure I will add some embellishments after I add my photos & story.

I combined the pattern paper from the Eat Play Love collection with some cardstock that matches this paper.  I used Fern, White Daisy, Glacier and Candy Apple cardstock (It is Cardstock Carnival right now and you can save up to 30% on our amazing 2-tone white core cardstock.).  I inked all the edges of the squares with Fern ink.  Can you see the texture on the Fern Cardstock?  Well I inked up my Floral Lace embossing folder and then ran my paper through my machine.  I love this look, it is so elegant.  I also misted the edges of my layout with the Turquoise Gloss Spray (currently out of stock but check back often ).

I cut the title out using the Simple Serif Uppercase thin cuts.  For the word family I stamped the co-ordinating Simple Serif Uppercase stamps on top with Archival Black ink.  For the word Fun I stamped a dotted background using the Daisy Meadows - Scrapbooking stamp set in Candy Apple ink.  On the strip of Glacier paper I stamped 3 words from the Food + Memories stamp set using Mink ink to say "Gather With Family"  I love that this set can be used for documenting other things than just food.

"Altered Wooden Shapes" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are about 11 of us highlighting the “Altered Wooden Shapes” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of the hop participants.

If you are coming from Katy's Blog, you are on the right track!

I created this cute card using a few different techniques to alter the wooden hearts.

The first technique I did was ink the medium heart with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink, I just rubbed it across the ink pad.

The second technique was to ink the small heart using the ink blending tool and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink, then using the Peeled Paint ink I stamped a floral image on the heart which you can see faintly.

Then I backed the open heart with a piece of cardstock and filled it with liquid glass and white beads.  After it was dry I trimmed it from the cardstock and brushed the top of the heart with my Black shimmer brush.  There are a few areas that are still brown as those spots had a little liquid glass on them and it acted as a resist to the shimmer brush.

The stamping was all done using the March Stamp of the Month - Winged Masterpiece and Intense Black ink.  The colouring was done with the Coral, Green Turquoise, Light Yellow and the Green Citrine Metallic Marker.

It is the Cardstock Carnival this month so I wanted to feature some of our beautiful 2-toned cardstock.  I used Sage, Peach and Mint, this colour combo I found in the Love of Color Vol 1 book.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Tamara's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Blessings, Kim

In This Together Blog Hop

Welcome to our In This Together Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the special products in the In This Together collection.  These products are available only until the end of March.

If you arrived here from Haley's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 16 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this In This Together collection and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I decided to create a card using some of my leftover scraps from the In This Together Workshop Kit.  I loosely used Pattern 2 from the Make it from you Heart Vol. 4 book to create this card.

I used Chipped Sapphire distress oxide ink to stamp the sentiment from the In This Together stamp set, ink the edges of the strips of pattern paper and to blend on the card base to give the soft blue under the overlay.  The overlay is the Stitched Lattice Background thin cut, I blended a little Peacock Feathers distress oxide on top of it.    The girl is from the Besties- Lucy stamp & thin cut set.  Her dress was stamped on the yellow striped pattern paper and then fussy cut and pieced on top.  I used Earth Brown, Fair Skin and True Blue Shades of Tri-Blend markers to do the colouring.  She was stamped in Intense Black ink and popped up with thin 3-D foam tape.  I embellished with a few of the In This Together Dots.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Michelle's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! March SOTM Blog Hop - Winged Masterpiece

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the March SOTM, called Winged Masterpiece it is a set of 15 stamps.

If you arrived here from Becca's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

This month we have around 19 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

A new idea book just launched today so you are going to see lots of new goodies along with the the March SOTM.

I decided to create a layout using the Stamp of the Month, and the Daisy Meadows paper and Scrapbooking stamp & thin cut set.  I kept it fairly simple but added little details.  It looks better in person.

I used Tattered Rose distress oxide ink to stamp the floral from this large butterfly along the edges of the White Daisy cardstock base page.  I did the same thing with the vine image on the top and bottom of the Espresso cardstock.  The butterfly was stamped in Intense Black ink and coloured using the Coral, Light Green and Citrus Tri-Blend markers.  I then went over the black antenna with the Black shimmer brush and the rest of the image with the Clear Shimmer brush.

The Title was stamped with Espresso ink and it and the flowers below the photo are from the Daisy Meadows Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cut set.  I embellished the page with the silver loose sequins.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Katy's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!
