There are about 13 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using products from the new January/February catalog and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

Today, I am sharing a layout I created using the Sweet as Honey Collection.

I used this Sawyer Layout from page 14 as inspiration and then created it with the Sweet as Honey Paper. & Cardstock.

The diamond type shapes where cut on my Cricut using the Artiste collection.

I created a collage on 3 of the diamonds using the Sweet as Honey Cardmaking workshop kit stamp set (this workshop is expected back in stock in February sometime.) with Pewter, Mink and Sundance ink pads.

I love the texture the cork hearts from the Sweet as Honey cork shapes adds to this layout.

I used Distress Oxide inks (Spiced Marmalade, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone) to create the background on my base page.

The large bee is again from the workshop kit stamp set and the small one is from the Sweet as Honey - Cardmaking stamp & thin cut set.  I stamped them in Archival Black ink, 1st & 2nd generation stamping.

The title is from the sticker sheet and popped up on foam tape.

The journaling spot is tucked behind the photo and can be easily pulled out with the bee that is on that journaling card.

Here is the process video of how I created this layout.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Haley Dyer, the Inky Scrapper to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! May SOTM - Flowers for You Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the May SOTM, called Flowers for You it is a set of 14 stamps.

If you arrived here from Becca's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

This month we have around 17 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

It is National Scrapbooking Day today and so while I am listening to Jill cut paper on the CTMH Facebook page I created this layout using the SOTM.  I am in love with this set.

I used a combination of the new Hillside Cottage paper and the new Mix-In collection of paper.  I also used White Daisy and Flamingo cardstock.

I stamped using VersaMark ink and the gold embossing powder.  I added the you inspire me stamp into my journaling using Archival Black ink.  This is a fun thing to do.

I added a little stenciling with the Abandoned Coral distress ink.  I also used this ink on the larger photo mat.  The white photo mat is using the Floral Lace embossing folder.

These are the layered butterflies and I have added the same ink to them in a variety of ways as well as the gold shimmer brush to the white one.  I absolutely love these thin cuts.

The flower is created with the 3-D flower thin cuts, I used the smallest 2 and added the bold bitty beads to the middle.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Melissa's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! "Dazzling Dimension" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are about 12 of us highlighting the “Dazzling Dimension” Techniques!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of the hop participants.

If you are coming from Katy's Blog, you are on the right track!

Today, is the 3rd day that the temperature has been above 0C and it is melting like crazy outside.  Spring has finally started to happen up here in the Northwest Territories of  Canada.

I decided I wanted to create a layout using Pattern 1 of the new Vol. 5 Make it from Your Heart how do book.  This pattern has paper weaving which is a fun way to add dimension.  I went into my old photos to find a photo to use and found this fantastic photo of me from 20 years ago.  I can remember that spring day and some of the emotions I was feeling.  Remember, it is never too late to tell your story.

I tried to create dimension in a variety of ways.  I love the paper weaving and the off set photo mats.

I love the dimension water colouring the flowers with the ink pads, adding clear shimmer brush and Diamond stickles adds to them.  For added dimension I popped them up with foam tape.

Doing the part of the title popped up on foam tape with the edges inked is another way to add dimension to a project.  I also blended some Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink behind the title.

Using an embossing folder, inking the edges of photo mats, layering photo mats and using foam tape are other ways to add dimension.

Stamping along the outside of a photo mat.

Supplies Used:
- Cherry Blossoms stamp set
- Peacock Cardstock
- Smoothie Cardstock
Peach Cardstock
- Almond Cardstock
Smoothie ink
- Peacock ink
- Espresso ink
Diamond Stickles
The Stamptacular sale is happening until the end of April.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Maz's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!  If are in Canada and don't have a Maker, I would love to help you.

"Altered Wooden Shapes" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are about 11 of us highlighting the “Altered Wooden Shapes” Technique!  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you get lost along the way Melissa has a complete list of the hop participants.

If you are coming from Katy's Blog, you are on the right track!

I created this cute card using a few different techniques to alter the wooden hearts.

The first technique I did was ink the medium heart with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink, I just rubbed it across the ink pad.

The second technique was to ink the small heart using the ink blending tool and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink, then using the Peeled Paint ink I stamped a floral image on the heart which you can see faintly.

Then I backed the open heart with a piece of cardstock and filled it with liquid glass and white beads.  After it was dry I trimmed it from the cardstock and brushed the top of the heart with my Black shimmer brush.  There are a few areas that are still brown as those spots had a little liquid glass on them and it acted as a resist to the shimmer brush.

The stamping was all done using the March Stamp of the Month - Winged Masterpiece and Intense Black ink.  The colouring was done with the Coral, Green Turquoise, Light Yellow and the Green Citrine Metallic Marker.

It is the Cardstock Carnival this month so I wanted to feature some of our beautiful 2-toned cardstock.  I used Sage, Peach and Mint, this colour combo I found in the Love of Color Vol 1 book.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Tamara's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

In This Together Blog Hop

Welcome to our In This Together Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the special products in the In This Together collection.  These products are available only until the end of March.

If you arrived here from Haley's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

There are about 16 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this In This Together collection and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I decided to create a card using some of my leftover scraps from the In This Together Workshop Kit.  I loosely used Pattern 2 from the Make it from you Heart Vol. 4 book to create this card.

I used Chipped Sapphire distress oxide ink to stamp the sentiment from the In This Together stamp set, ink the edges of the strips of pattern paper and to blend on the card base to give the soft blue under the overlay.  The overlay is the Stitched Lattice Background thin cut, I blended a little Peacock Feathers distress oxide on top of it.    The girl is from the Besties- Lucy stamp & thin cut set.  Her dress was stamped on the yellow striped pattern paper and then fussy cut and pieced on top.  I used Earth Brown, Fair Skin and True Blue Shades of Tri-Blend markers to do the colouring.  She was stamped in Intense Black ink and popped up with thin 3-D foam tape.  I embellished with a few of the In This Together Dots.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Michelle's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the In This Together collection is only available until the 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can purchase these products!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.

March SOTM Blog Hop - Winged Masterpiece

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I hope you will hop along with us and check out all of the amazing artwork created using the March SOTM, called Winged Masterpiece it is a set of 15 stamps.

If you arrived here from Becca's Blog, then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, Melinda's Blog has a complete list of all the participating consultants.

This month we have around 19 Close To My Heart Makers/Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

A new idea book just launched today so you are going to see lots of new goodies along with the the March SOTM.

I decided to create a layout using the Stamp of the Month, and the Daisy Meadows paper and Scrapbooking stamp & thin cut set.  I kept it fairly simple but added little details.  It looks better in person.

I used Tattered Rose distress oxide ink to stamp the floral from this large butterfly along the edges of the White Daisy cardstock base page.  I did the same thing with the vine image on the top and bottom of the Espresso cardstock.  The butterfly was stamped in Intense Black ink and coloured using the Coral, Light Green and Citrus Tri-Blend markers.  I then went over the black antenna with the Black shimmer brush and the rest of the image with the Clear Shimmer brush.

The Title was stamped with Espresso ink and it and the flowers below the photo are from the Daisy Meadows Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cut set.  I embellished the page with the silver loose sequins.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Now "Hop" on over to Katy's Blog to see what she has created! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the March SOTM is only available until the 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!  If you are in Canada and don't have a consultant I would be happy to help you.

Paper Ink Swiping Technique

 Good Evening Everyone!

I wanted to pop on here and share some artwork with another technique that I learnt at the CTMH album retreat just over a week ago.  I taught this technique live on Facebook on Saturday during my Good Stuff Virtual Weekend Crop the link to that video is HERE.  I did this technique near the end of the video as it was a video on Distress Oxide and Stencils.  So, here is the card I created using a few of the techniques from the layouts that are below.  I love how you can take techniques and use the same technique on both a layout and a card.

Card with ink swiping and distress oxide with stencils.

Layout with ink swiping technique.
